I have mixed feelings about Shakur. I can't get totally past his extensive police record (Google it). It's hard to believe that he was ALWAYS a victim of false accusations and uncontrollable circumstances, but I doubt we'll ever know for sure. Still, his writing was superb, his talent indisputable, and his influence on two generations of my students undeniable. And what he says here is brilliant. The precocious Tupac was way ahead of his time. I wish he was around today to rap some sense into the educational policy makers (one of whom should be Stephanie Rivera).
